The Shops at Long Grove - northwest of Chicago
Two years ago, we were sponsors for the youth choir tour to Chicago. During Spring Break, we revisited some of the favorite places we experienced and added some new spots! We had lunch at the top of the John Hancock building, shopped Million Dollar Mile, spent a lot of time touring Frank Lloyd Wright homes and neighborhoods, saw "Grease," and visited The Shops at Long Grove, a quaint village of cafes and one-of-a-kind shops.
Spring has been somewhat of a roller coaster. The down side - and it was minimal, thank goodness - was having to take the Generalist EC-4 test with very little notice. Cheryl only found out she'd had to take it AFTER coming to MISD. It was during a time she was pretty ill with a serious sinus infection that lasted several weeks. The upside of that roller coaster was major (!) and included: several visits from our Tulsa kids who joined the family for concerts at Dallas' Meyerson Symphony Hall; spending a day with Nac. Jr. Forum friends attending the awesome Dallas Jr. Forum Spring Fling luncheon at the Belo Mansion in downtown Dallas; and the 4th graders achieving 100% passing on the TAKS reading test, 97% in writing, and 95% in math!
