Over Spring Break, we traveled to Chicago to join our adult choir from FBC Nacogdoches. We'd planned to do this for nearly a year. After we moved, we went back for the trip rehearsals, and we're so glad we did!
We sang at some amazing churches as well as a veteran's hospital, a soup kitchen, a homeless shelter, and a place Irby and I looked forward to returning to, Misericordia. This is a uniquely special place we visited while on tour with the FBC Youth Choir. It is a beautiful campus/home for children and adults with mental disabilities. You've never been to such a positive place in your life! http://www.misericordia.com/
We also visited the Chicago Institute of Art (definitely want to go back!), took a Chicago gangster-era tour, went to the Lyric Opera, saw the Broadway production of "Mary Poppins," shopped Michigan Avenue's Magnificent Mile, and took several friends to the Frank Lloyd Wright area which Irby and I enjoyed on a previous trip.
We had so much fun reconnecting with our Nac. friends during this trip. It was a whirlwind trip, and we're so glad we got to be a part of it. It was hard to return home with them going one place and us going another!
