Gavin Levi Cox was born 10-24-10 at 9:26 a.m. weighing 8 lb 9 oz and 20 3/4 inches long. The parents are our son and daughter in law, Matthew and Jordan Cox. When we got the call, we left from our best friends' son's wedding in Marble Falls. We are glad we were able to help with the rehearsal dinner though. A dear friend texted us every couples of minutes during the ceremony so we felt like we were right there as we began the 7 hour drive. God certainly showed His hand on the wedding and the birth --- He gave a huge rainbow to Matthew and Jordan as they drove to the hospital, to us as we drove as fast as possible to them, and to the wedding location.
Matthew and Jordan did a remarkable job bringing their little guy into the world. They made a commitment to a shared birth experience with no drugs...and 19 hours later, their "labor" produced an awesomely darling little baby boy! They had made up a series of clues to guess the baby's name, so the Jeffers and Coxes had something to do while we waited. Gavin Matthew was pretty much the final choice. We were all delighted to be reminded that "Levi" means Matthew in Hebrew. Strong, great name!
We are amazed at how in love we are!! Gavin is beautiful! He is a wonderful miracle and a huge blessing to our family!
ONE WEEK OLD!
Could he get any cuter??? We enjoyed a sweet visit with the new parents and grandbaby at the one-week mark!! Matthew and Jordan are great parents, attentive, but relaxed. We are so happy and proud for them. They are so gracious and anxious to share their sweet baby and we got some serious holding time in! Do I need to say that we enjoyed every last second??

The three of us just read your blog post and we LOVE it. So cute...and the pictures you picked were great! I love the one of him in the mirror. Gavin misses his Gigi and Papa Bear.
