Elizabeth told us about.
At the end of one of the short-cut roads...sign
areas were often lovely little mini-gardens.

After Waterford, we traveled a very short distance to Kilkenny to the Kilbawn Country House. It is a very large, comfortable home with lovely gardens and a delightful hostess we won't soon forget. Elizabeth is quite a character. Benjamin, Irby, and I were about 5 minutes late going down to breakfast. (I know NONE of my friends can imagine that I would be late!) There was a knock on our door. Expecting it to be Kim, whose room was across from ours, I opened the door, and was surprised to find Miss Elizabeth standing there. She said in the nicest way, "Ken-net says to tehl you you're latt!" Daddy told us that she had asked his Christian name, and that's when she came upstairs!! She was very entertaining and we enjoyed her a lot. (Her husband says they should probably stop asking people their "Christian" names since not everyone IS Christian.) We went into Kilkenny to eat dinner the night before, and Elizabeth gave us a much easier way to go than we came. It was VERY narrow, but parts of it were very picturesque.
