December 2007

Keeping the tradition with Mom and Jack of having English "crackers" for Christmas meals, we broke ours open to find our paper hats, small gifts, and jokes written on paper. This year's cracker's even had a small musical instrument in each one, along with a music score to play together. We never completely figured it out, but we had fun trying!
Just two Cox cousins this year - Amy and Benjamin, always great pals!
This year at the Coxes, we missed Alice terribly. She was ill. :-(

The Bass Performance Hall, Ft. Worth, where earlier in the month, we saw "The Nutcracker."
I loved it all over again.
This picture comes with some humorous story! While in Tulsa to visit Matthew and Jordan and hear Jordan sing in their church's Christmas program, we took pictures their Christmas card pictures. Jordan, always original with great ideas, grabbed a scarf for their dog, Ginger, at the last minute. It was the perfect touch. Ginger was so alert and cooperative during the picture taking because Irby was waving her favorite snack, celery...yes, celery...above my head while I laid nearly flat on the floor to take most of the shots! I'm sure we must've looked quite amusing. Matthew and Jordan said they should've gotten a picture of us!

We spent a lovely December evening at our friend's home, Mark A. As always, we had a scrumptuous dinner. His home is always exquisite, huge rooms with cozy corners, each room full of antiques, including my favorite - blue and white china. At Christmas time, this already welcoming home becomes a virtual fairy tale with thousands of twinking lights and stunning touches!
